Our CCW Courses are not meant to teach you how to shoot. If you are not comfortable with your firearm, please take a Basic Firearm Course first! |
This is a Saturday Course
We start at the RANGE at 9:00AM and complete the CLASSROOM portion in our office AFTERWARD.
DIRECTIONS:
9:00 am - RANGE – Richmond Rod and Gun Club, 3155 Goodrick Avenue, Richmond, CA 94801
Class starts at 9:00 am, but only if everyone is present. Please do not be late.
At approximately 10:30 am we will drive to our office for the classroom portion of the training.
CLASS - Make sure GPS takes you to 1652 West Texas St. in Fairfield NOT to Merganser Dr. in Suisun City.
WHAT TO BRING:
All functionally safe pistols you want on your permit. (3 maximum) Must be registered to you or your spouse.
A functionally safe holster of proper fit for at least one of the guns you bring.
Required gear (belt etc.) so you can properly wear the holster and safely draw/present a pistol.
As many magazines as possible for each gun (Minimum of 2 but more is better and speeds up range time)
Minimum of one (1) speed-loader or moon clip per revolver pistol.
Minimum of 100 rounds ammunition per pistol. FACTORY LOADED AMMUNITION ONLY. NO RELOADS
State issued ID. (i.e., California Driver's license)
Food and drink to snack on during class (there will likely be no lunch break)
Eye and ear protection, Ball cap, Closed toe shoes, No low-cut shirts, or sandals
Rain gear or cold weather gear as appropriate for the existing weather conditions
A good attitude for learning!
Bring all unloaded firearms into the classroom but leave ammunition out of sight in your locked vehicle.
ALL FIREARMS MUST BE UNLOADED NO AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM
REMOVE ALL DEVICES COVERING THE FRAME SERIAL NUMBER OF THE FIREARM BEFORE COMING TO THE CLASSROOM (i.e., lasers and lights)
The new qualification course of fire (effective 1 July 2022) requires 50 rounds of ammunition to complete. We require you to bring 100 rounds per gun in case you are required to make a second attempt at passing the qualification course of fire.
